CD71 (transferrin receptor 1, TfR1) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein essential for iron uptake in proliferating cells. It is highly expressed on activated lymphocytes, hematopoietic progenitors, and rapidly dividing cells making it a valuable marker for cell proliferation and iron metabolism studies.
