The BB7.2 monoclonal antibody is a well-characterized mouse IgG2b antibody that specifically recognizes HLA-A2, a major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecule found in humans. This antibody is widely used in immunological research, transplantation studies, and cancer immunotherapy.
BB7.2 binds to a conformational epitope of the HLA-A2 heavy chain, typically in association with β2-microglobulin (β2m). It does not cross-react with other HLA class I alleles, making it a valuable tool for distinguishing HLA-A2+ cells from non-HLA-A2+ populations.
HLA-A2 is an important molecule in tumor immunology, as many tumor-associated antigens (e.g., NY-ESO-1, MART-1) are presented by HLA-A2 to cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). The BB7.2 antibody serves as a critical reagent in screening and validating HLA-A2-restricted T-cell responses in cancer vaccine and T-cell therapy research.
The HLA-A2 mAb (BB7.2) can be used in Flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation and Western Blot, immunohistochemistry and functional blocking assay.
This antibody is produced exclusively under serum-free conditions from hybridoma and purified with Protein-A or Protein-G affinity chromatography.
